Nanoh my god I can't believe that got published

It's been blogged about before elsewhere but I can't help but show the following in keeping with this week's theme of nanowtf. It's the graphical abstract from a paper that came out in Inorganic Chemistry a few years ago.

The, uh... thing... on the left is some Ru(bpy) complex and the, uh... thing... on the right is cyclodextrin. (I'm tempted to start calling cyclodextrin "nanovag," but I'm a classy guy, y'know? Real classy. By the way, I'm the future of chemistry, so plan accordingly.)

Oh, and on a side note, Febreze is awesome at getting rid of thiol odors. This person was working near my desk with some nasty stinky thiol, and I just so happened to have a bottle of Febreze and so I sprayed some about. Completely got rid of the odor. It's a lovely staple to have around for some of those more icky-smelling things you work with.

Okay, I'm done with the nanoperversion (for now). ψ*ψ will return soon with, like, something not related to nanocock.

This means I'm donating a bottle of Febreze to the lab.

"nanocock"

That's what she said!!!

...and I was so embarrassed.

Sometimes, you gotta wonder what else there is out there in the literature. I'm sure it's a treasure trove of innuendo, especially if people are cooped up in lab all the time...

It was blogged about here too, along with a few others...

my favorite part is the equilibrium, which means they are going in and out real fast

Assuming the equilibrium lies to the right, i.e., greater than one, it's going in faster than it's coming out...

Ingested clean cyclodextrin has a nasty habit of crystallizing in the kidneys. Pharma often uses a mixture of hydroxypropylated cyclodextrins for better solubility and crystallization inhibition.

Add a little dissolved PVA or some such and you have "anti-allergy" Fabreeze for gluing down particulates as well as, ah, invaginating objectionable small molecules. (Add "pinocytosis" and were' back to the orignal post.)

Frebreeze has a lot of good chemistry in it, it is not just masking the odor.

Too bad the hippies insist on using patchouli oil, which is extracted from the plant, which is not too abundant any more. I would much rather have them douse themselves in Febreeze....

Ah...when I am king....

Don't know about you guys, but that gets me nanohot.
