My Apartment

...or a visual representation of smectic-like Langmuir-Blodgett films? We report, you decide.

Taken from the liquid-crystal group at Universität-Hamburg. They have a little feature called "LC in Daily Life" where they show real-world, artistic representations of various liquid-crystal phases. Some are really clever (chiral doping in smectic phases), some are weird (discotic CT complex), some are Milkshake-level weird (Smectic A), and some have nudity (smectic C ftw!).

Fun stuff.

Why would anyone put so many condoms on a clothesline? Are they planning to dry them out and reuse them?

But they used to sell those, before the WWII. Made from thicker rubber to last, and suplied with a bottle of a liquid soap and a tasteful stand for drying the jimmy. They call it "family value kit".

So what do you think - secretaries, Tiger Team, or local La Leche League recruiting?
